Our CSR Approach

For over 120 years, H. Reynaud & Fils has built a sustainable offering of natural aromatic ingredients and essential oils. Our core business is biodiversity, naturalness, and respect for living things.

Our sustainable development strategy represents a commitment we have upheld towards all our stakeholders since our creation in 1898.

As a responsible company, measuring our environmental and societal impacts has always been part of our value chain. For us, it is a key condition to offer healthy and reliable products to our clients, naturally, while respecting all our stakeholders who have long helped us create this value: employees, clients or suppliers, partners, as well as future generations

Our Commitment

As a member of SNIAA, HRF has been a signatory for 5 years of the Sustainable Development Charter developed by the international flavor and fragrance associations, IOFI-IFRA. HRF thus contributes, along with the 17 signatory companies, to the commitment of the flavor industry in France to implement a sustainability trajectory, good practices, and responsible initiatives to accelerate a more responsible transition.

Our commitments under this charter:

  1. Promote responsible sourcing of all raw materials (renewable or fossil), indirect materials, and services throughout the value chain
  2. Contribute to climate change mitigation and continuously reduce the environmental footprint of our product portfolio
  3. Promote a safe, attractive, and enriching corporate culture
  4. Be at the forefront of product safety and design
  5. Be a transparent and reliable partner for our stakeholders and society

Furthermore:

  • HRF is assessed on the SEDEX platform
  • HRF is rated by Ecovadis (Silver medal in 2024)
  • Since 2007, HRF has been organic certified by ECOCERT for part of its range.
  • HRF is ISO 22000 certified
  • We adhere to the CENSO program for essential oils of French origin
  • HRF is GMP Pharma certified (excipients and active ingredients)
In 2025, we are resolutely committed to the recognition of our societal responsibility approach, focusing on several key areas:

• Continuation of our responsible sourcing strategy, and certification process for our responsible supply chains, notably with UEBT; contribution to improving the economic development of impacted local communities • Reduction of our energy consumption • Reduction of our waste and pursuit of valorization (methanization) • Increasing consideration of the impacts of our activities on biodiversity to improve them (continuation of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) on our main products) • Development of our governance strategies around societal responsibility and extra-financial reporting
